Late one Saturday afternoon last Fall, I met up with the Ess Family for a photo session at one of my most favorite places tucked up in the hills of Altadena. As a spot I go often for hikes with my pup and to explore with my son, I always thought it would be a perfect location for just the right family shoot. And, this one was just that. We took our time letting the kids stop to explore the almost-dry creek bed, climb a fallen tree, jump off rocks and snuggle with mom and dad. There was no rush except only the setting sun and so we chased it along, taking photos as we went in it’s golden light, until it dipped below the horizon. It was all its own kind of magic.
