These photos of Kelly and Jeff hold an extra special place in my heart. I met Kelly when both of our businesses were getting off the ground and since then we’ve both been on our own fun and adventurous journeys personally and in our businesses. (Kelly has an amazing blog you may have heard of called Studio DIY! ;)
Shortly after we adopted James, Kelly and I reconnected and it turned out that we had gone through a lot of the same fertility issues. She and Jeff were considering adopting and they wanted to know everything about our adoption experience. I was happy to share because I think it’s an awesome thing! Since then, they have hired our adoption dream team and gone through the intensive, crazy process to be approved to adopt, so now it’s just a waiting game until they match up with their baby bundle. I am SOOO excited for them!! They are going to be amazing parents!
When they asked if I would take photos of them to help announce their adoption plan to the world, I was SO incredibly honored, especially since Kelly is photographed on a regular basis and Jeff is a super talented photographer! We met up on blustery, chilly day at the beginning of January for a shoot at the Santa Monica Pier. I wanted to give them a collection of images that captured them and this amazing moment in their family’s story… sweet, fun, creative and colorful!
