out of africa

It has been almost exactly ten years since my first trip to West Africa and it has been on my mind a lot lately.  That trip back in 2005 was truly life-changing for me and I am so grateful to have had that experience at that time in my life.  Being able to learn from other cultures and understand that there is more to life than just my own little corner of the world is something I cherish every day.  It’s something I wish more people understood and one of the main reasons I got into photography.

I am excited to share some of my favorite images from Ghana (mostly in the Cape Coast area) taken in 2005 as well as from my second trip to the region in 2008.  I hope they provide some perspective and insight into this great big world of ours.  I would love to know what you think!  Feel free to comment below.
