Whether I’m photographing a newborn baby, a family or a wedding, I always feel so lucky that I get to photograph these happy moments in my clients’ lives. It’s just so good for the soul. But, when someone asked me recently what was my favorite thing to photograph, my response was engagement sessions. There’s something so fulfilling about photographing two people in love in a beautiful location with plenty of time to get creative and capture relaxed, natural moments. When we can incorporate a location that has special significance for my clients, it doesn’t get much better than that!
When Sara and Steve booked an engagement session with me, my first question was what do you like to do together? Their answer… hiking and being outdoors. So, outdoors we went to Eaton Canyon–one of my favorite spots in Pasadena. It’s such a magical setting in the late afternoon and, without fail, I always find new spots that I hadn’t discovered before. As usual, I went a little bananas over the light. I think I may have done a happy dance once or twice. (You would think after shooting in the golden hour a gazillion times I’d get tired of it, but I never do.) Can you tell how much fun we had?
We got a little creative and kooky at the end with the balloons!
EmiliaThese are fantastic!!!! I can’t wait to work together on their wedding!
