A few years ago after attending a friend’s wedding, I stayed up almost all night catching up with my good friends, Emily and Joe. We talked about a lot of things that night but there was one topic that I remember rather poignantly… wedding photography. We talked about how telling the story didn’t have to be mutually exclusive from being creative and artistic. We talked about how the moments in between the “I Do’s,” the first kiss, the bouquet toss and the cake cutting were just as, if not more, important to capturing a couple’s big day. After all, those are the moments that make each wedding so wonderfully unique and beautiful. About a year later, I started One Eleven Photography determined to create those types of images.
So, you can imagine that it was quite special for me to photograph Joe and Emily’s wedding almost two months ago, that conversation strongly in mind throughout the day. I have to admit every time I look at these photos, especially the ones of the ceremony, I get a little choked up. It was an honor to photograph such a fun, beautiful day for two friends that I love very much. Enjoy!
