Photographing weddings makes me happy so you can imagine how thrilled I was to photograph the wedding of two of my best friends. But, there was one other reason why I was excited about Scott and Marie’s wedding. Not only did they ask me to photograph their wedding but Marie also asked me to be bridesmaid! It might sound a little whacky but, hey, I’m kind of a whacky gal. So, how did I do both you ask? Well, with the help of an awesome and great second photographer (Thanks Edith!) who took over for the ceremony and some of the group shots. It was certainly an experience doing both but I’m so glad I got to REALLY be a part of their unforgettable day.

It was such a beautiful, fun wedding. They decided to do two things that I love at weddings… A lot of DIY and vintage details. Marie asked all of us bridesmaids to find vintage 1950′s light blue dresses. (I loved mine and plan to wear it a ton!) All the beautiful bouquets and boutonnieres were made by Marie’s talented sister Sarah (who also designed all custom stamps used for everything from the invitations to the place cards). And, I think everyone had such a great time.

Scott and Marie: Needless to say but I’m over the moon for you guys and love hearing you refer to each other as “husband” and “wife.” You are two of the most genuine, sincere, fun-loving and loyal friends I know and I wish you so much joy. Time to plan our next trip travel buddies! Where to next? ; ) Love ya guys!
