elizabeth + jon paul | pasadena engagement photography

On occasion, wedding clients will hire me without actually meeting in person.  We’ll chat on the phone and work out the details over email. Such was the case with Elizabeth and Jon Paul who are getting married at the Castle Green in Old Pasadena in November.  When it came time to planning their engagement session, they had a wonderful idea of shooting around the Castle Green and a nearby train station as a way to symbolize their journey together.   They also suggested incorporating vintage details like old luggage, which I loved.  Props can add such a fun element to engagement session photos.

Based off their ideas and their sentimentality, I had a feeling we would get along pretty well.  And, I was right!  When we met up last Friday, which happened to be their current anniversary, we bonded over our mutual love of the Beatles, classic 80′s movies and all things vintage.  I loved what they chose to wear and how comfortable they were getting all cuddly in front of my camera.   It all made my job easy and set the tone for some great photos.  I think these may be some of my favorite engagement photos that I’ve taken.  Not a bad way to spend a Friday afternoon!
