I can’t tell you how much fun I had with this particular photo session. The main subject of these photographs happens to be one of my dearest friends. When Clover shared the wonderful news that she was pregnant with her second little one some months ago, I was over the moon. And, of course, affirmed right then and there that we would have to do a maternity shoot when the time came.
It’s safe to say that I absolutely love maternity photography. I love being able to capture that amazing moment in time just a few weeks before the little one arrives. I love that glow that expecting mothers have. I love the anticipation, the sweetness, the belly! I love being able to find what’s special about each woman and, hopefully, bring that out in my photographs.
In this case, I loved being able to include Clover’s beautiful son Finley (who turned two yesterday! Woohoo!). I loved being able to document how much she adores him and how much he adores her. I loved being able to spend a couple hours with three of my favorite people!

vivian - You are so right about Finley and his mom. You have captured in your photography their love for one another. It made my eyes well-up with tears (in a good way) to look at these pictures.

Finley + Isla | Santa Clarita Family Photographer » One Eleven Photography - [...] Now that everyone’s Christmas cards are wrapped up, I can share some of my recent family session favorites and not spoil the surprise for the lucky recipients. Photographing families for the holidays was a welcome change of pace after a busy wedding season. This particular photo session was super fun because it was with two of my favorite subjects, Isla and her big brother Finley. Finley has made multiple appearances on my blog but I’ve only had the chance to photograph Isla was when she was just a few days old. We lucked out with a super sunny day in late October up in the Santa Clarita mountains and the kids were great models.
