Inspiration Found: Part One

As I mentioned in my last post, I ventured out to Minneapolis last weekend after a quick trip to New York.  If you’ve never been to Minneapolis, by the way, it is a very cool town!

The purpose for my visit was to attend a highly-recommended photography workshop held by one the top child photographers in the country, Cheryl Muhr.  I am SO glad I went!  Cheryl was incredibly inspiring, really good at what she does and full of tips and tricks to running a successful photography business.

On our first day, we started out with a newborn shoot.  It was really fascinating!  I’ve done a few of these but I am really excited to do even more now!  You know those amazing photos of adorable newborn babies all sleepy and curled up into a little balls?  There’s a whole lot of technique, art and finesse that goes into those images.  I had no idea!  (I’m not going to spill any trade secrets here, so you’ll just have to hire me to see how it’s done and to get some amazing photos of your own!)

Here are a few of my favorite photos from our newborn session.

(Next up: Some of the most adorable, beautiful children I’ve ever seen!)
