Sweet Charlotte

On Saturday, I had the pleasure of photographing three-week-old Charlotte, the gorgeous daughter of Imara and Zack Coffman.

The plan was to take some cute photos of Charlotte curled up in an adorable, sleepy ball–but I knew I wanted them to be unique at the same time, how I wasn’t sure.

But, that plan didn’t quite work out.  When I arrived at their Studio City home, Charlotte was wide awake, so we quickly came up with a Plan B and headed to the park across the street. The park was mostly grass, lots of sun and lots of people–not exactly the calm, serene environment I had envisioned for Charlotte’s photos.  A shady tree with great big roots caught my eye  and I quickly  saw a very interesting contrast of textures–the bright, clean blankets and the rough mess of leaves–and  I knew right away how we were going to get some great, unique shots.

When we set Charlotte down under the tree, she was quite content to lie there and let me take a few photos.  It worked out perfectly and I’m pretty excited by the results.

Enjoy!
