A couple of months ago now, I had the honor of photographing Sara and Jason’s intimate wedding in Kaanapali, Maui. I don’t think I’ve fully recovered from island time but that’s another story. I am excited to share their wedding photos but, before I do, I thought I should share this fun, mini engagement session we squeezed in a couple days before their big day.
As is generally the case with most of my wedding clients (and most people in general), the thought of being photographed made these two feel a little uncomfortable but “awkward” wasn’t really the vibe we were going for in their wedding photos. Channeling that awkwardness into the laughter and playfulness of an engagement shoot, even if it’s only for 20-30 minutes, can help shake off those jitters and was the secret to capturing the natural, relaxed, beautiful photos of their wedding day, as you will see when I blog them soon!
