I take a LOT of photos of James and he really is a huge inspiration to me when it comes to my family photography. I clearly share quite a few photos of him on Instagram but I have to usually choose just one or two from a batch of photos. It occurred to me that my blog would be a perfect place to share more photos of him. I thought some photos from our recent trip up to Portland would be a perfect inaugural “Life with James” post.
I was up in Portland for an engagement session and because, well, I love it there and James tagged along. It rained much of the time, which I also loved. One of the best parts about lots of rain is how great it feels when the sun does come out. We had one such glorious, sunny morning and I was determined to make the most out of it.
We went for the loveliest walk in the woods at Tyron Creek State Park. The smell of the woods and the lush, green foliage immediately brought me back to my own childhood exploring the Oregon woods, tromping around in the mud and getting my hands dirty. (Yes, that really was my childhood.) I’m so glad I got to share that with James and thankful I brought my camera along. I hope he loves these photos when he’s older as much as I love them now.
